If you Googled “best nonfiction books for women” I’m sure you could come up with thousands of suggestions. So how do you narrow it down?
First, a confession….
I never really enjoyed reading when I was younger. It wasn’t until I got into nonfiction books related to my interests that I started to actually enjoy reading. Now it’s one of my favorite things to do when I get some quiet time.
To help you narrow down your search here are some of my favorite nonfiction books on finances, productivity, business, inspirational, spiritual, mom life and health.
Best Financial Books
The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey
The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey is the best overall finance book for anyone that is looking to improve their finances with this 7 Baby Steps to Financial Peace. Dave shares his proven system to help people live on a budget, get out of debt, build wealth and give generously.
Smart Money Smart Kids by Dave Ramsey and Rachel Cruze
Smart Money Smart Kids by Dave Ramsey and his daughter, Rachel Cruze will help you apply the same lessons from Total Money Makeover for your kids. They will guide you on how to teach your kids about earning money and how they should divide their money into savings, spending and giving.
The Legacy Journey by Dave Ramsey
You have probably figured out by now that I am a huge fan of Dave Ramsey when it comes to financial advice. The Legacy Journey: A Radical View of Biblical Wealth and Generosity is another great book of his. Dave focuses on the bigger why in Legacy Journey. Why do you want financial peace? He talks about leaving a legacy, changing your family’s financial tree and how to give generously.

Best Books About Productivity
Take Back Your Time by Christy Wright
We all strive for that proper work life balance. And when we feel out of balance we become discouraged. I love Christy Wright’s book Take Back Your Time: The Guilt Free Guide to Life Balance. Christy has a different view about life balance that I think we all need to adopt. Balance is not about having an equal parts of all the things in your life. It’s about being intentional with what you have to focus on in the moment and also being fully present.
Do Less by Kate Northrup
Do less? Intriguing concept for a productivity book isn’t it? Do Less: A Revolutionary Approach to Time and Energy Management for Ambitious Women by Nate Northrup. She encourages busy women to break free of the daily hustle by working within the phases of your menstrual cycle. By doing the right things at the right time, you will more productive. This book was the first time I was introduced to the concept doing certain things based on my body’s natural rhythem. You’re Made for a God Sized Dream by Holley Gerth

I’m a fan of her podcast, Marketing Made Easy so I knew this book would be gold. Amy shares how she kicked her fears from leaving the corporate world to become an entrepreneur. What I love best about Amy is she shares simple action items to help you move forward. I wish I had this book when I was still working in the corporate world.

Alisa goes into depth about how our hormones fluctuate during each phase of the menstrual cycle and how it effects our overall health. Think you learned all this in middle school health class? Guess again! The information she shares SHOULD be taught to all young ladies but most of us adults don’t even know the information that Alisa shares. I read though the whole book and often go back to reference certain parts.
Sleep Smarter by Shawn Stevenson
Could you use more restful sleep? I’m sure you could, so you have to read Sleep Smarter: 21 Essential Strategies to Sleep Your Way to a Better Body, Better Health and Bigger Success by Shawn Stevenson. Shawn explains why lack of quality sleep can be so detrimental to our bodies. He also shares tips and habits to increase your sleep quality.
